A guy in a particular organization on campus claimed to love gospel music…but didn’t know who the Clark Sisters were. I felt like a slap was in order…but that wouldn’t have solved the problem.
The Clark Sisters to me are severely underrated in the field of music. The fact that they had to appear on Tv One’s “Unsung” reaffirms it. I was watching the episode like…”since when are they unsung?”, but apparently they are.
These 4/5 (one got kicked out in the middle lol) women changed an entire genre of music! Not many artists can say that about themselves. In the days when no instruments besides a tambourine, drum set, organ or piano were heard on a gospel recording, these women turned around and released “You Brought the Sunshine” a FULL studio recording sampling Stevie’s “Master Blaster”. People were dancing…literally DANCING to this song (in studio 54). They paved the way for contemporary gospel music as we know it today (besides Kirk Franklin…that’s another story).
Besides all of that “changing an entire genre of music”…THEY…CAN…SANG…all of them! I mean some serious sangin. It’s ridiculous how sick their vocal skills are. Twinkie and Karen alone could sing circles around any singer that just popped in your head right now.
I’m going to need a tribute to come through somewhere else besides “Celebration of Gospel” on BET. Anytime an artist is INCREDIBLY talented and changes an entire field of music, it should be celebrated. I don’t care what genre you like (country, rap, pop, classical) they should be respected…In the meantime…I’ll just sit and wait for a Grammy Tribute or SOMETHING?!

If you’re going to steal a woman’s purse…just make sure she isn’t a female wrestler first.

I just understand and acknowledge the fact that she is a great artist…or even one of the best artists of our time. I am an Erykah Badu stan, she could do no wrong to me. I point out Beyonce’s faults every now and then, but it doesnt happen often because she barely has any!!
Beyonce doesn’t have to be your favorite artist…nor does she need you to feel that way about her, but you can’t really talk bad about her. Those that do talk bad about her rarely have anything logical or truthful to say (lip syncing, i dont like her because she wears weave).
Opinions are opinions…BUT we need to stop using opinions as justification to say whatever we want. I’m sorry but “in my opinion Keyshia Cole is better than Beyonce” just doesn’t add up. So then I end up getting in an argument and end up looking like a stan lol! In reality i’m just using pure logic, facts, and common sense.
in the meanwhile you can think what you want

This is what I saw when I logged onto FB, a mother perming a kindergartens hair for the fist day of school. The caption says cry baby Morgan. Sad huh, her daughter is in pain, yet and still she takes time to take a picture.
=(
This is child abuse at it’s finest. Children are NOT supposed to get perms/relaxers until their scalp is fully developed and that is at the age of 8-10.
Well at least her daughter will learn early…good and bad hair
TRUTH!!!!!! that’s been me every time since my card got declined at American Deli…don’t judge me

At least she understood…
